As another year comes to a close, many leaders are planning to reach out to gather feedback from their communities about what went well in 2021, and what might be improved for next year. In the spirit of constant improvement, we’re doing a little bit of our own with some exciting updates in ThoughtExchange Version 5.5.
This update is scheduled for December 9, 2021 at 11PM Pacific time. The software will be unavailable for about 15 minutes during this time.
Updates in this release include:
Leaders often want to be able to quickly see all the thoughts in an Exchange that are positive, negative, or neutral. Having some insight into sentiment can speed up the process of theming and can just be a good test for how participants are feeling. To help leaders understand the sentiment of the thoughts shared in their Exchanges, we’ve added a second automatically generated theme set to all Exchanges called “AI Sentiment Themes”. This theme set includes three themes: Positive, Negative and Neutral and the artificial intelligence built into ThoughtExchange works to sort thoughts into one of those categories.
Like any AI-driven feature, this will get better over time; but for now it is a great starting point for creating your own theme sets based on sentiment.
Has Christmas come early? It might feel like that for a lot of our leaders as we make one of their most requested ideas a reality. Leaders will now be able to assign a single thought to up to two themes! Simply select a thought and click the theme you want to add it to, even if you’ve already themed it once.
Please let us know what you think of this new functionality! We’re on the lookout for feedback.
We’ve made it quick and easy for administrators to control who has access to your ThoughtExchange account and to change who has access to which features with just a few clicks. Admins can manage their “Users” list by clicking the Avatar icon in the top right corner of the page and selecting “Admin settings”.
Admins can use the Invite button to add up to 20 new users at a time (depending on the settings for the Room) and control what level of access the people receiving the invitations will have from Customer Administrator, to Room Administrator, to Leader. Check out this article on our Help Site to learn more about what each of those roles can and can’t do.
Admins can also manage the roles of existing Users by clicking the pencil icon in the row with each person’s name or delete the User by clicking the trash can icon.
A small change we’ve made to reduce confusion for participants in the ‘Rate thoughts’ section of an Exchange is to make the goal bar at the top of the page adaptive to the number of thoughts already in the Exchange.
We encourage participants to try and rate 30 thoughts each, but in an Exchange with fewer than 30 thoughts, that messaging can be confusing. Now, if the Exchange is still waiting to hit that magic number of shared thoughts, participants will just see the total number of thoughts available to rate. We’ve also segmented the bar to give a better idea of how many thoughts have been rated so far.
