This article offers a summary of new features in Thoughtexchange version 4.5.9. We also demonstrated these changes at our Web Event on June 6, 2019. The video of that demonstration is included here. We hope you can join us for our next live Q&A about new features. Watch out for an email from us letting you know the details!
Organization and collaboration are the name of the game in our latest Thoughtexchange upgrade. We’ve made it easier to keep track of all your exchanges and collaborate with other leaders.
Leading and Participating
We’ve created separate spaces for keeping track of your exchanges: One for exchanges you’re leading and another for those you’re participating in.
By switching between the Lead and Participate pages, you can now easily keep track of all your exchanges—whether you’re wearing your leader hat or your participation pants.
When you log in as a leader, you’ll land directly in the Lead view. You’ll know you’re in the Lead view if the banner is blue and the button at the bottom of the screen says Create. This is where the exchanges you’ve created are found, and if you have a Thoughtexchange Room, other exchanges created by your colleagues. Learn more about Rooms here.
With these recent updates, a Thoughtexchange Room lets you easily collaborate with colleagues switch exchange leaders and stay informed about what you team is talking about.
You can use the menu in the top left-hand corner (affectionately called the hamburger menu) to navigate to your Participate view. This is where you can review all the exchanges you have participated in. If you create an exchange and also participate in it, you will see it in both your Lead and Participate views.
Participants who are not also Exchange Leaders will always land on their Participate view. (We like to keep things simple.) The Participate view is purple and has a Join button at the bottom of the screen to help navigate to new exchanges.
