Changes to Cheer for!

We’re in constant change mode these days while we learn a ton from our beta users. If you’ve shared input with us, thank you!

Here are a few of our recent changes: 

Some changes our leaders will appreciate:

Improvements in the Create/Edit view 
Now if you change your mind and want to remove an attachment, or want to switch it for a new one, you can do that in the Create/Edit view. While you’re in the Create/Edit view you can also take a look at the list of all the participants in your Thoughtexchange

Some changes we expect participants will cheer for:

Character count and countdown of characters
No longer will you get surprised when you can’t finish your thought because you’re at the character limit. We now show participants the exact number of characters they can enter when sharing thoughts and also how many characters they have left.

Sharing URLs in Thoughts
Want to share a resource in your Thought by way of a URL? We’re now able to support that and they even become clickable links.

One time for Star instructions
We now show our Star onboarding message only once for each user. We were maybe a little overzealous in making sure participants knew how to Star before and showed the instructions Every. Time.

Skip the registration if it’s not needed
If a Thoughtexchange does not require registration, we display a registration dialog, in case someone still wants to set up an account, but we now allow you to press Skip to participate. Previously you had to press Cancel to participate, which was just plain confusing.

And some changes just make us all happy:

Desktop and mobile design improvements
We’ve simplified our desktop design. Simply put, the desktop now looks and works just like the mobile app and we’ve improved the mobile app for participants using smaller screens.

Improving the list of Thoughtexchanges
On the Thoughtexchanges list, we now have tabs for Active, Complete and Archived to help keep your list ship-shape and organized. You can archive a Thoughtexchange whenever you’re ready.

Participant stats in notifications are now correct
You can now trust that our participant statistics in notifications will match what you see in your Thoughtexchanges list.
