Thoughts are the foundation of any good ThoughtExchange (hence the name of the software). Once you have crafted a great question and put it out to your community, the thoughts you get back form the basis of the entire conversation. But once participation is closed and you are ready to plan your next steps, how do you take participant thoughts and turn them into something meaningful?
A note about filters:
Regardless of what filters are applied to results, the values displayed are always in reference to how groups RATED thoughts. There are no filters available (with the exception of Participation Groups) that provide information about which group of participants SHARED a thought. This is done to protect participant anonymity.
Results Dashboard
The Thoughts section on the Results Dashboard landing page is the place to explore the individual thoughts that make up your Exchange. Sort them by theme set and choose to display them from highest rated to lowest rated or vice versa. Each thoughts panel shows the content of the thought, its sentiment, the number of participants who rated it, and the (weighted) average rating. To learn more about how the weighted average is calculated, click here.
You can also use the filters at the top of the page to sort top thoughts by survey question responses.
To add comments to thoughts or assign actions to them, navigate to the separate Thoughts page by clicking the dropdown arrow on the main results landing page in the lefthand menu and selecting Thoughts. Check out our articles about comments and actions to learn more about how those features work.
To generate a Thoughts Report to share with stakeholders or include in a summary report, navigate to the Reports tool on the Results Dashboard.
