The “Message Display Rules” feature within Adaptive Survey enables leaders to create conditional logic that determines the specific message text shown to participants. This is designed for scenarios where a transition or informational message needs to be tailored to different groups based on their previous survey responses.
Message Display Rules use participant input to trigger relevant, personalized communication, allowing leaders to provide specific instructions, feedback, or context for a more cohesive and professional experience.
Setting Up Rules
To implement these rules, navigate to the Adaptive Survey editor and select the Message card you wish to customize.
- Identify the previous survey question that will serve as the "parent" logic for the message.
- Use the rule builder to create different versions of the message text.
- Define which variable or answer choice triggers each specific message variation.
- Review the logic to ensure that every participant path results in a clear, formatted message.
Note: For these rules to function accurately, the phrasing must be meticulously mapped to the recognized values of the parent question. For example, if a message is based on a "Role" selection, the logic must account for every possible role (e.g., "Teacher," "Parent," "Student") to ensure no participant encounters a generic or incorrect message.
