The “Answer Display Rules” feature within Adaptive Survey enables leaders to create conditional logic that determines which specific answer options are visible to participants. This feature is designed for scenarios where certain response choices only apply to a specific subset of the audience based on their previous input.
Answer Display Rules leverage participant responses to prior questions to filter subsequent choices. By setting these rules, leaders can ensure a streamlined user experience, showing only the most relevant options and reducing survey fatigue or confusion.
Setting Up Rules
To implement these rules, navigate to the Adaptive Survey editor and select the question containing the options you wish to filter.
- Select the previous survey question that will serve as the "parent" logic.
- Use the rule builder to specify which answer options should be shown (or hidden) based on the participant's prior selection.
- Review the logic for each possible response to ensure participants are not met with an empty list or irrelevant choices.
Note: For these rules to function accurately, the logic should account for all potential "parent" responses. For example, if a participant selects "Other" in a previous question, ensure the subsequent Answer Display Rules are configured to either show a general set of options or a specific follow-up set to prevent display errors.
