The Global Context feature enables template creators to define replaceable text placeholders that leaders can customize for their specific engagement.
To create a Global Context variable, navigate to the template editor and select the ‘Welcome’ card. Select the ‘Details’ tab in the ‘Welcome’ card and ‘Add context’. Write the field reference, such as ‘Organization Name’, in the ‘Context name’ field and the value itself, such as ThoughtExchange, in the ‘Context value’ field. This enables creators to reference the organization name wherever needed throughout the engagement by selecting the appropriate global variable from the variable selector.
How it Works
With Global Contexts inserted into a template, leaders can update information in one central location to reflect across the entire engagement:
- Leaders set the value (e.g., "Superintendent Jones") once on the Start card > Details tab.
- Anywhere the {Global context: LeaderName} variable is placed, it will automatically display as "Superintendent Jones" to participants.
This ensures consistency and saves the leader from manually editing multiple text blocks throughout the engagement.
