☐ |
Choose an Exchange template, or create your own. |
Check out all the great resources the templates have to offer. |
☐ |
Add any Survey Questions (SQ) you desire. |
Best practice: for a first Exchange, add no more than 1-2 SQ to protect confidentiality; and give participants enough time to share and star thoughts. Remember that people must answer SQ before they move on to share and star. |
☐ |
Check your Moderation settings, and adjust as necessary. |
The default setting is to have Machine Moderation turned off. |
☐ |
Hit <LAUNCH> button
|
This activates the Exchange by creating a unique URL that can now be shared by you. Your Exchange now moves from the <Draft> folder to the <Active> folder. |
☐ |
Check your Exchange set-up and add a couple of thoughts. |
“Seeding” the Exchange gives the first participant some thoughts to star (instead of waiting for other participant thoughts). It’s also a good way to test assumptions! |
☐ |
Click <Present> on the Manage page |
This will take you into Present |
☐ |
Select whether you want Traditional (left-right navigation) or Scrolling (up-down) modes |
Best Practice: Choose Scrolling. Most people prefer Scrolling for live Exchanges, especially if there are survey questions and people are participating on mobile devices. |
☐ |
Adjust the timer if needed. |
The default is 4 min. However, for first Exchanges and/or for larger groups (100+), 7-8 min is advisable. The timer can be adjusted mid-Exchange, and acts as a visual cue to the facilitator and participants. The Exchange does not close when the timer goes to zero. At zero, you have the option to close the Exchange (it does not close automatically). |
☐ |
Hit the Present button. |
This opens a separate browser window with the Invite screen (QR, join code), and allows you to copy the Exchange link to add to a video chat. You’ll be navigating using the arrows to the bottom right. You’re all set! |
