Thoughts are presented one-by-one for rating in the Rate Thoughts step based on an algorithm that ensures each thought has a fair shot at being rated.
Participants are not able to choose which thoughts to rate because that might bias the ratings in favour of the thoughts that have already been rated highly (thoughts at the top of the All Thoughts or Hot Topics lists would attract the most attention and newer thoughts that are further down might get ignored).
If you see a thought in the View Results step that you feel strongly about, you may choose to go back to the Share Thoughts step and provide your own ideas on the topic. Topics that are shared more than once tend to stand out to exchange leaders (provided they resonate with the other participants).
You can also rate more thoughts and see if the ideas you would like to assign stars to appear for you.
