Thoughtexchange is equipped with accessibility options that can be enabled by pressing Ctrl-Shift-E. This will also be provided as an audible cue for participants with screen readers enabled.
Note: this key combination will not work if keyboard focus is on an interactive element within the page, eg. a text input field. In this case, the user should back out of this element in order to successfully enable accessibility options.
For best user experience, we recommend using the following combinations:
MacOS: Google Chrome and VoiceOver
Windows: Microsoft Edge and either:
- NVDA in FOCUS mode, or
- JAWS in FORMS mode
Navigating the Exchange
Once the accessibility options have been enabled, our site can be navigated using either the arrow keys or Tab/Shift-Tab to cycle through interactive elements on the page, and the Spacebar or Return/Enter key to interact with the currently selected element.
Note: Discover Dashboard and Te Labs do not support accessibility options at this time.
Rating Thoughts
Within the Star step, the number keys (1-5) can be used to rate the thoughts.
Note: This may differ slightly based on the accessibility software (ie. NVDA) being used. In some cases, you may need to use the Ctrl key when pressing the number key, ie. Ctrl-1, Ctrl-2, etc.
Our goal is to remove any barriers to joining in on the conversation and make the exchange as beneficial as it can be to everyone, without limitations on the participation experience. Please reach out to us at feedback@thoughtexchange.com if you have any feedback or questions.
