If the account you are working on is equipped with the "Surveys” option and your profile has the "Manage Surveys" permission, you can create engagements that focus entirely on closed-ended Survey Questions. You can easily tell if this feature is enabled on your account, because you will see dialogue box asking you if you would like to create an Exchange or a Survey when you click the "Create" button.
- You are looking for structured feedback based on a set of predetermined questions and possible responses.
- If you need to measure specific, predefined data points.
- Look at performance against industry standards
- Present a clear vote to your participants where you can quickly determine the most broadly supported option(s).
- When you are looking for Quantitative analysis (to measure something specific or for reporting purposes)
- When you want to gather demographic and/or census data.
- When you want to identify vulnerable populations - survey questions and analysis can help to dig deeper to identify groups and subgroups that need support
- When you want to conduct year over year comparison of your data points (our Compare Exchanges tool is handy for this.)
- When you want to make location-level comparisons to support growth and SIP
- When you want to use comparative analysis (correlations) between survey topics.
- When you want to engage in a two-way dialogue and gather qualitative feedback in a way that educates participants on the ideas of one another
- When you want to foster collaboration and build consensus toward a decision among stakeholders
- When you want to leverage collective intelligence of stakeholders to solve complex challenges
- When the objective is to surface new perspectives, challenge assumptions, and explore creative solutions.
Note: Keep in mind, survey questions can complement your open-ended Exchange question by helping you dig into what ideas resonated with different groups.
